A Long Time Coming

"So what you deny him because he is an Omega? That is crappy and you know it." Selene shook her head in disgust. "What the hell happened to you?"

"What do you mean what happened to me?"

"You used to be this girl who didn't care about rank in the pack. Why deny him now?"

"I care now because I have been raised a certain way. I have so much responsibilities and crap to my father. Everything I am use to changes. Unlike you I don't get grand things, I am reduce to actual work. I'm not cut out for that."

Selene shook her head. "Do you know what an Alpha's mate has to do? Basically everything I've learned. So what if you have to work. It's not a big deal."

"It is for me. Maybe you don't have high expectations, but I do."

"No you have this spoiled inclination that being the daughter of a Beta makes you better. Your mate is going to suffer. A good man is going to hurt because of you."

She rubbed her arms. "You have an Alpha, why do you care what I do?"

"I wouldn't give a damn if my mate was an Omega like me or even if he was a lone wolf. I would thank my stars that I actually got what is rare for our kind." Selene stated evenly. "You are being so fucking spoiled right now." Selene turned to walk away. "I'm leaving with my mate. If I were you I would think about the pain you are going to be putting your mate and yourself through because of you thinking your too good to be with an Omega." Selene walked back towards everyone else.

Marcus looked at the Alpha. "I will take my mate and leave without helping if his daughter does not leave with Simon. He is my Omega but also my friend from childhood."

The sighed. "It's her choice. If she leaves, she will lose her rank and alot of respect, which is hard for many. However if she stays, because she would be separated from her mate, will make her very weak and hinder our pack."

Selene walked back grumbling and looked at her friend's father. "I said what I could." She shook her head. "She's changed alot."

Simon sighed softly. "It's because I'm an Omega isn't it?"

"It's because she's being a spoiled little bitch." Selene stated. "She never used to be like this."

The Alpha spoke with Cam's father and with much argument, he came back to the group.

"She will leave with him. I have to do what is right for my pack."

Selene sighed. "Well I better go tell her." She stated walking back towards where she had left Cam. "Alpha ordered for you to come with us."

She shook her head. "No, my father would not allow me being forced to leave."

Cam stood and rubbed her eyes.

"Take it up with our Alpha." Selene stated simply before she went back to Marcus's side. She stood slightly behind him and made sure to keep a hand on his arm to let him know she was fine.

Simon stood with his arms crossed and his head down some in frustration.

Cam came back a few minutes later. She could feel Simon in the room as she chose not to look at him. She went to her father.

"Please tell me I can stay." She touched his arm. She looked at her father who only shook his head and pushed her hand away and left the room.

Cam dropped her head feeling as if she was going to cry again.

"I am sorry Camryn, but I can not have you hinder my pack when it is already so weak. You have an hour to pack. You too Selene."

Cam left without a word, heart broken in way.

Selene nodded and went to go pack her few belongings. She felt someone following her but ignored it because she wanted to finish quickly.

Simon watched Cam go and sighed.

Marcus kissed her shoulder as his arms wrapped around her.

"I don't like seeing Simon like this."

Selene sighed some. "She never used to be like this. You know we grew up together. Were best friends then somehow I became nothing more than a servant to her."

"Well me and Simon had our fathers that kept us together. They were good friends."

"Honestly I don't know what happened with me and Cam. Everything changed when the Luna died."

"Was the Luna special to you both?"

Selene nodded. "The Luna was special to all of us women. She taught me alot of what I know to be a good Mate and wife." Selene smiled some. "She used to be the only one to put Cam in her place."

"I see. If she had become such a different person, why do I see you still consider her a friend?"

Selene sighed. "Because it's hard to throw that kind of friendship away. We were raised together."
