A Long Time Coming

Cam's father rubbed his face as he looked for his daughter.

"Daddy." She said walking up from behind him. "You look stressed...what is it?'

"Your future husband is coming soon. Also I've been hearing distressing things about your treatment of one of the Omegas." He stated looking at his daughter.

"He is coming?!"

She smiled and let her mind wonder about the man that was going to make her a Luna. He was powerful, handsome, smart, and from rumors, quite impressive in bed. He might not be her mate, but their alliance would give her current pack stronger forces. The Alpha was in his early thirties and had not found his mate, thus him agreeing to marry Camryn. Their kids would not be ask strong as if she was his true mate, but her being a Beta would be a great thing for their bloodline.

She looked over at her dad and saw he was not smiling. "What? Oh an Omega...well thats a lie. The only Omega I speak to is Selene."

"Yes he is coming." He stated simply. "And you don't treat Selene badly infront of others?" He asked curiously.

"No I don't. Me and her are cool."

She shrugged and went look at herself in the mirror, playing with her hair.

"He will be here in an hour with his Omega. Be polite." He stated before turning and walking away. He didn't know what was going to happen but he knew it was going to interesting.

Camryn went find Selene. She saw the girl looking somewhat upset.

"What is wrong with you?"

"Nothing." Selene stated as she went to quickly wash up. "Why are you here?"


Simon looked at his Alpha as they rode in the car to meet his bride. "I have a question." He stated to his friend.

"To chill with you I guess. What is with the attitude?"



He looked over at him. "What is that?"

"I'm studying." Selene stated before sitting at her desk to read.


"Can I take a bride?"

"You can study later."

Cam took her book from her.

"I do not object, but why ask of that now?"

Selene growled. "Look unlike you I have to study to be the perfect bride. I don't get to marry an Alpha." She snatched her book back.

"I fear I am not going to find my mate."

Cam took the book again. "What do you mean by that? You're mad that I am getting married?"

He sighed. "I have not found mind, but I have been offered to marry a beta's daughter. So I understand. Well I'm sure you can find a potential wife at this pack."

Selene snatched the book back. "I do not care that you are getting married. Hell I am happy you are getting married and leaving here. I am saying that unlike you I have to learn all kinds of things to prove that I can be a good wife and attribute to my household."

"I am hoping I will. It would be nice to have someone to come home to after we deal with pack business."

"You think its easy for me? I go through shit too you know. Anything that is not perfect and I have to hear about it later. Including you as a friend."

He smiled and patted his shoulder. "You deserve it."

"Me as a friend? Since when have I been your friend? You treat me as a slave. Get out I will be down when your husband has arrived to take you away from here and out of my life."

"What have you heard about your bride?"

Cam stared at her. "Selene you don't mean that. We have always been friends."

She was taken back and sadden, her face showing it.

"Nothing more than she is a beauty and strong, being a Beta's daughter. Making her worthy or carrying kids and being a leader."

"No friend treats each other the way you have been treating me." Selene stated simply. "Please leave so that I may study in peace."

"Let's hope she is a fair person."

"Come on Selene. You know we are friends. I've told you things I have never told anyone else. We are suppose to be friends forever, remember?"

"Yeah. But can't be picky at my age."

"Go." Selene stated again before she sat down to finish studying.

"Your not that old." Simon said laughing some.

"Selene? Selene? Look, I'll go for now. I'll leave one of my dresses on my bed for you to wear. Please don't be mad." Cam left the room and went down stairs and outside to get some air.

"Old enough not to have found my mate."

Selene rolled her eyes and ignored the comment about the dress. She didn't want to speak to her friend like that but it was bound to happen eventually.

~An hour later~

Simon got out of the car as it stopped and looked around.

Selene stood in her spot behind Camryn wearing a dress she had made herself. She had been determined not to wear something of Camryn's.

Marcus looked at Simon. "Now or never right?" He smiled.



Camryn looked at Selene. "Pretty dress." And it was, she could tell her friend had worked hard on it.

Simon chuckled some. "Yes."

"Thank you." Selene stated quietly. She felt the breeze shift and when it did it carried a scent that made her insides warm. It smelt like leather, rain, and just a hint of the forest. Her eyes started scanning for the source.
