Beaten but not Broken

"Now Tammy, this deal you spoke of. I will review it but I am still not sure. It has no benefits for me."

"It has many, just you see. Stop being so prudish to me." She pouted.

Isis ignored the conversation around her though she was curious about what they were talking about but didn't let it show. She kept quiet and kept glancing at the window seeing the sky which made her smile some.

They spoke more, though it was not enough to give Isis a clue on what was the issue. After a few hours Tammy stood.

"Think about it okay. I'm sure this will give you everything you deserve."

Isis started to clean up her dinner plate and went over to the window leaning against it as she looked up at the sky.

He watched her leave before looking at Isis.

"Something out there more interesting then me?"

Isis turned her head to look at him. "No Sir I was just letting you have your conversation also I wanted to look at the sky. It's a beautiful view. Are you finished?"

"I am and its fine. Though most time I expect your full attention."

Isis nodded as she got up to clean up his area. "I will remember that Sir. I didn't think you wanted me to know what your conversation was about."

"No...well at least not yet." He watched her reach for his plate. "No. Leave the plates as they are."

He then stood up and reach for her hand. "Come with me." He stated but pulled her along before she could answer.

Isis walked with him curiously. "Can you please not pull so hard?"

He continue to pull her, only loosing his grip eve so slightly.

"Thank you." Isis stated as she walked with him curious about where they were going.

He headed up many stairs, but being immortal caused him not to tire out. But he could feel her start to slow down, which had him lift her up into his arm as he continued up the staircases.

Isis squeaked at the sudden change and held onto him tightly afraid she was going to fall.

He laughed. "Out of all the things to be afraid of, me dropping you should be the least of your concern."

"It's a little scary to be picked up so quickly." She glanced up at him. "Where are we going?"

"The roof." He stated simply as he made it to the top of the stairs.

"Why?"

He kicked open the door that lead to the roof of the castle. "You said you like the sky. This gives you a better view of everything."

Isis looked up and gasped slightly at the view. "It's beautiful." She whispered.

"I guess." He put her down and stared at her. "You humans are funny creatures."

Isis laughed softly. "I guess those of us who have been pets are peculiar to your kind."

"That you are. Such fragile creatures."

Isis nodded slightly. "We can be. I have learned though that strength lies in the will of the person."

"Is that so? And how much strength do you have Pet?"
