Meeting Her Future Husband

"I am not a pet to anyone." She bowed some to her father then left the room.

He went to follow her but Vlad's hand stopped him. "I must go to my mate."

"You will respect her wishes and you will not disrespect her by calling her a pet."

"Her wishes is to not be married and I wont give into that. I want what is mine."

Vlad raised a brow. "Did you think that maybe you need to woo her."

"Woo her? I don't woo women, they just seem to fall me. I should not have to woo my mate for her to love me."

Vlad watched him. "Well she isn't a vampire first of all so she won't feel the mating pull. Second she isn't normal."

He mumbled. "Not normal is an understatement."

"What do you expect? She grew up in the middle of wars." Vlad stated. "She's a fighter not a little housewife."

"Maybe so, but with marriage comes compromise."

"Like what?" He asked. "She isn't like us."

"I will try to be more supportive of her activities and mood. She needs to learn I need my mate and the emotions that come along with it."

Vlad laughed. "Good luck with that." He poured himself a drink. "She's in the garden."

"I don't need luck." He quickly left and went to find Anna.

Anna was leaning back on a stone bench looking up at the sky.

"There you are Pet." He went over to her quickly, sliding into the seat next to her.

She kicked him. "Do not call me Pet."

He looked at her. "You will get use to it." He leaved over and kissed the side of her head.

She wrinkled her nose.

"You are cute when you do that."

"Why are you bugging me?" Anna asked. "I just wanna be left alone."

"It's called spending time with my mate. And I don't want you to be alone Pet."

"Well I do." She got up. "Just go."

He sighed and stood up. "Fine I will let you alone now but I want to see you at dinner mate." He leaned down and kissed her cheek before walking away.

Anna grabbed a stone and threw it hitting him in the back. It wouldn't hurt him but it made her feel better.
